About GWAL

German Workshop on Artificial Life

After Luebeck 2002 and Bamberg 2004, the 7th German Workshop on Artificial Life (GWAL-7) in Jena will continue the successful series of GWAL-gatherings, which are attended particulary by young European researchers in the field of Artificial Life (AL).

Since its inception in the 1980s, AL is an interdisciplinary field of science focused on abstracting the essential features and dynamics of living systems in order to create artificial, life-like systems. GWAL-7 is intended to provide the opportunity for biologists, physicists, information and computer sciencists, chemists, mathematicans, and philosophers interested in this field to present and discuss their new results.

The workshop is open to an international audience and will be held in English.
